Affinity Trust Hereford Opportunities win gardening prize
Congratulations to the gardening team at Affinity Trust’s Hereford’s Opportunities Service, known locally as Score, who won second place in a recent competition.
The team, Keith, Daniel and Jonathan, attend a session called ‘Growing Point’ at Holmes Lacey College, Hereford, every Wednesday in term time. Growing Point is a charity that allows people to explore horticulture and to expand their gardening skills. Their focus is to allow everyone to enjoy the social and therapeutic benefits that accompany horticulture regardless of a person’s circumstances.
As part of their autumn show, Growing Point held a contest for people to grow a plant in a strange container. The Score team used an old tractor exhaust pipe in which to grow their colourful arrangement. They were really delighted to be placed second from the large number of entrants.
