Christina reconnects with family and friends
Christina, who we’ve supported since 2014, had been through a difficult period.
She’d become very low and had found it difficult to engage and be around people. It was hard for her to go out and enjoy the things she had previously done. This affected her appetite and led to her becoming unwell.
Over the past six months, Christina’s team has supported her to help improve the quality of her life. She is now going to social clubs with her friend Julie, and enjoying shopping again.
Christina had lost contact with her mother during her difficult period. But she’s been supported to get back in touch and, every two weeks, is now seeing her again.
Christina is also getting her appetite back. She’s been eating meals and snacks throughout the day and needs less support from the dietician.
With support from her Affinity Trust team, Christina has also returned to the day service she used to go to many years ago. She’s reconnected with old friends and made plans to see them again.
Recently, Christina enjoyed a day trip to Kew Gardens. Her next goal is to visit Legoland and stay the night at the hotel.
Christina is proud of the progress she’s made: “I am happy to be seeing my mum and going shopping again. My support team are encouraging me to make my own drinks and meals. I’m really looking forward to visiting Legoland and staying overnight.”
