Week of action for better pay
Affinity Trust has joined the Better Pay for Social Care coalition, which is lobbying the government to improve funding for social care workers.
From Monday 6 to Friday 10 September, the coalition of 28 social care organisations held a week of action. This included videos and images from a range of people, including people receiving support, their families and support workers, explaining why social care workers deserve financial recognition.
Affinity Trust and its coalition partners are urging social care workers and others to sign the petition for better pay, which will be delivered to HM Treasury on 21 September.
Leo Sowerby, Affinity Trust’s Chief Executive, said: “We believe our staff deserve better pay but local authorities don’t pay us enough to do this. We want to get as many signatures as possible on the petition. Please sign the petition and share the link.”
