Meet Martin

Though he has some verbal communication, Martin mainly connects with his support staff through hand gestures and facial expressions. His support team are trained to understand him and to make sure he is supported in the way he wants to be.

Martin likes to be active. He enjoys visiting different places and is often keen to try his hand at a variety of different tasks.

One of Martin’s biggest passions is gardening. In recent times, Martin has developed his love of gardening by taking charge of a residential care home’s vegetable and herb garden – particularly during the spring and summer months.

With our support, Martin plants many vegetables and herbs and follows this up with regular watering and care. His hard work is greatly appreciated by both staff and residents alike with much of Martin’s produce making it onto the dinner table during meal times.

Away from the care home, Martin remains busy and enjoys daytrips to nearby towns and cities. He values his independence hugely and his support staff ensure that Martin’s active personality is always stimulated.
