Nicholas has complex support needs – including both visual and hearing impairments. Masud is a part of Nicholas’ support team, and Nicholas recognises his presence through his sense of smell. They have an excellent and trustworthy relationship and Nicholas is particularly happy when Masud is on-hand to support him – he is noticeably more relaxed when Masud is nearby.
Masud understands Nicholas. He has been professionally trained to understand Nicholas’ support requirements as well as what might trigger Nicholas to become upset or uncomfortable. Though Nicholas has little verbal communication, Masud’s professionalism and understanding nature ensures Nicholas receives the best possible support.
