Supporting people into work
People with a learning disability are far less likely to have a job than the general population. We work closely with anyone we support who would like to get a job to help them find work.
Emily, for example, works at a shop close to her home. At the shop, Emily takes on a number of important roles. These include operating the shop’s checkout, dealing with customers’ queries, overseeing sales and making sure that the right amount of stock available on the shop floor.
Because she relishes these opportunities, Emily’s confidence has grown. She is well-liked by the store’s staff and many customers enjoy regular chats with her.
